What Hippo users face
The Product Is Retired
Hippo CMMS was retired as a standalone product in 2025. Its features were folded into Eptura Asset, and remaining Hippo customers are being directed to migrate. Staying put is not an option - the only question is where you land.
No Longer a Canadian Vendor
Hippo CMMS was originally a Canadian company based in Vancouver. After the Eptura acquisition, the product is owned by a US company headquartered in Atlanta. Buyers who picked Hippo for its Canadian roots will want to recheck hosting and contract terms with Eptura.
No Published Pricing to Compare
Hippo's old Lite, Plus, and Pro tiers were quote-only, and Eptura Asset - the migration path - is also priced by custom quote. There is still no way to evaluate what the move will cost without a sales process.
No FCI Tracking
Hippo CMMS does not offer Facility Condition Index tracking or forecasting. Facilities teams cannot calculate building condition scores, track portfolio-wide FCI trends, or build defensible capital plans from asset data.
No Capital Planning Tools
There are no built-in tools for strategic capital planning, replacement forecasting, or long-term budget modeling. Organizations managing multi-year capital programs need separate tools or spreadsheets.

What happened to Hippo CMMS?
Hippo CMMS was acquired by iOFFICE in 2019, became part of Eptura in the 2022 merger, and was retired as a standalone product in 2025. Its features were folded into Eptura Asset, and remaining Hippo customers are being directed to migrate there. Along the way, headquarters moved from Vancouver, Canada to Atlanta, USA, so it is no longer a Canadian vendor.
How much does Hippo CMMS cost?

Is it difficult to switch from Hippo to AssetLab?
No - and since Hippo's retirement forces a migration anyway, the switching effort is sunk either way. You export your assets, work orders, and maintenance history from Hippo and import them with the downloadable AssetLab onboarding workbook (Excel or CSV), with guided onboarding for larger imports. Done-for-you migration is also available as a paid service. A small asset base can be running within hours; larger imports take a few weeks with guided onboarding.
Does AssetLab keep data in Canada?
Customer Data - asset records, work orders, costs, documents, contracts, attachments and audit logs - is hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal), together with its backups. Some supporting services process data in the United States; the Trust Center lists each one. AssetLab follows PIPEDA-aligned privacy practices.
